Emberwell Bulb — Rechargeable LED with Hook Switch
Warm mood light for every room, backed by the highest-capacity battery on the market. Leave the switch on, and the instant the power cuts, it automatically switches to battery power — up to 5–6 hours of light exactly when you need it. Waterproof, and the hook doubles as an on/off switch.
Light that doesn't quit. The Emberwell Bulb screws into any standard socket like a normal bulb, but it keeps the highest-capacity battery in its class charged inside — so as long as the switch is left on, the moment it senses the power has cut, it automatically switches on and keeps your space lit for up to 5–6 hours. Waterproof housing and a hook with its own on/off key mean it's just as at home hanging in a tent or a bathroom as it is in a lamp.
5 Reasons Emberwell Beats Other Light Bulbs
-
✓Highest-capacity battery on the market▾
Emberwell is built with the highest-capacity battery of any rechargeable smart bulb on the market. It ships with a 40–50% charge so it's ready right away, and tops up to full in a few hours on any live socket — giving you the longest backup runtime in its class.
-
✓Works during power outages▾
As long as the switch is left on, Emberwell constantly senses the power coming through it. The instant an outage hits, it automatically switches to battery power, giving you up to 5–6 hours of light exactly when you need it — no fumbling for flashlights or candles when a storm knocks out the grid. Just keep the switch on, since it's the master control either way.
-
✓Waterproof▾
Built to handle rain, steam and splashes — use it outdoors, in the bathroom, or straight through a storm without worry.
-
✓Turns on with a simple touch▾
The hook doubles as the switch — press the key on the hook to turn the light on or off by hand, any time, without unscrewing the bulb or needing a wall switch nearby.
-
✓Works anywhere — home, camping, outdoors▾
The hook lifts off the base so the bulb can hang from a tent pole, a shelf, or a hook by the door. It's energy efficient too — bright output at low wattage, built for daily use at home, in the office, in shops, or outdoors — and rated for approximately 25,000 hours of LED life.
Never Get Caught in the Dark Again
Leave the switch on, and Emberwell takes care of the rest — automatically, for up to 5–6 hours a charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a special socket?
No — it's a direct retrofit for any standard E27 (screw) or B22 (bayonet) socket, the same as a normal bulb. One caution: like most rechargeable bulbs, it isn't designed for dimmer switches — use a standard on/off switch to avoid flickering or affecting the battery circuit.
How does the hook switch work?
The hanging hook has its own on/off key built in, so you can turn the bulb on or off by hand at any time — whether it's screwed into a lamp, hanging from a tent pole, or sitting on a shelf. You don't need to screw it in or out, or be near a wall switch, to control it.
How long does it take to charge, and how long does it last?
Emberwell ships with a 40–50% charge, so it's ready to use right out of the box. It tops up the rest of the way automatically whenever it's screwed into a live socket with the wall switch on, reaching a full charge after a few hours of normal use. On a full charge, its battery — the highest capacity of any rechargeable smart bulb on the market — powers up to 5–6 hours of automatic backup light during an outage. The LED itself is rated for around 25,000 hours of use.
What happens if the wall switch is off?
The switch is the master control for Emberwell, whether it's running on mains power or its battery. As long as the switch is left on, the instant an actual power outage hits, it automatically switches over to battery power and keeps the light on for up to 5–6 hours — nothing to set up yourself. But if the switch itself is turned off, the bulb stays off completely, even during an outage, since the switch controls power either way. For always-on backup protection, just leave the switch on.
Is it fully waterproof?
The housing is sealed against rain, splashes and steam, so it's suited to outdoor, bathroom and humid environments. It isn't designed for full submersion.
How long does the battery last overall?
Emberwell uses the highest-capacity battery available in a rechargeable smart bulb, and like other rechargeable bulbs, it typically holds up for 300–500 charge cycles — around 2–3 years of regular daily use — before its capacity noticeably declines.
Where can I use it?
Anywhere a standard bulb fits, plus everywhere one can't: the bedroom, living room, office, a shop display, a hallway, a campsite, or outdoors during a blackout.
